Purpose of the position
The Senior Global Mobility Officer is responsible for coordinating all operational activities related to international assignments and international local hires within Vopak globally in order to achieve flawless execution and service (end-to-end). This entails ensuring the global mobility policies and processes for international assignments and international local hires are adhered to, as well as providing content expertise to the organization. The SGRO also assists in the day-to-day operational handling of international assignments and international local hires by coaching and connecting all parties involved and, where appropriate, doing (a part of) the work him-/herself.
Additionally, the Senior Global Mobility Officer provides expertise to HR, line managers and employees in case of other types of international mobility (extended business visitors, international projects, etc.).
The Senior Global Mobility Officer is part of the Global HR team located at the headquarters in Rotterdam, Netherlands. S/he reports to the Head Global Compensation & Benefits. The position is full-time.
Responsibilities and tasks
The Senior Global Mobility Officer is an all-round role. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Working together with the Head Global Compensation & Benefits to transform the Global Mobility Office from its current NL-oriented execution role to its new global, coordinative, expert and support position;
Providing advice, training and (hands-on) support related to the global mobility policies and processes as well as to executory details of expatriation and international local hires to colleagues around the globe (divisional/ regional, and local);
Being the main contact and (end-to-end) operationally responsible person for selected international assignments;
Managing international mobility set-ups in the organization from an international labor law, tax and finance perspective;
Managing (selected) third party vendors which deliver international mobility services (relocation, immigration, housing, schooling, settling-in services, culture/ language training, medical checks, tax, health insurance, data providers, etc.) on a global basis;
Working together with the Head Global Compensation & Benefits for policy and process developments and improvements.
Demonstrable experience in international mobility as well as mastery of the English language (oral / written) is a prerequisite. Mastery of the Dutch language is not required.
You love to work with a variety of people, often on a personal level, and you have excellent advisory, communication and interpersonal skills. You are good at sharing knowledge with, training and coaching others to help them execute the operational day-to-day international mobility activities. At the same time, you do not shy away from doing things yourself. While you are able to see the bigger picture, you also love diving into the details. You manage everything orderly, and things do not fall between the cracks easily with you.
